Coca-Cola Khaya
Majola Cricket Week: Player to look out for
Name: Sinalo Gobeni
Age: 17
Team: Boland
School:
Western Cape Sport School
Batting and Bowling Skills: Batting: Left Hand. Bowling: Right Arm (Off-Spin)
Previous Provincial weeks: Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Cricket Week 2016
Cricket Hero and why: Ben Stokes from England
because I love the way he plays. He holds the record for England's fastest ever
Test double-century and I hope that I will be able to achieve the same record
when I play professional cricket.
Non- Cricket Hero: My mother Nondumiso Gobeni
because she raised me as a single parent. She is very supportive of my cricket
career and has encouraged me to never give up on my dreams and work hard for
everything so that I know the value of having things.
What do you think makes a
hero: I
believe that a hero is a person that can stand up to things that other people
can’t and being able to take control of any situation.
What are your highlights of the season so far. My highlight was making my
semipro debut a few weeks back against Namibia.
What are you expecting from
this year’s tournament? It is my
second year playing in the tournament, so I have an idea of what to expect and
will be able to handle the pressure better.
Last year’s tournament prepared me mentally and I hope that I will make
SA School team or the Colts team. My highlight from last year was winning the
Coca-Cola Hero of the Day in my match against Western Province.
Who are the players to look out for? Vezokuhle Mntungwa (Somerset College), Daniel
du Plessis (Paarl Boys High) and Archille Cloete (Paarl Boys High)
