Johannesburg Primary Schools League joins the Danone Nations Cup

The Johannesburg Primary Schools League will be joining in the Danone Nations Cup this year with 18 schools competing for two places in the Gauteng provincial finals happening in Boksburg on Saturday, 17 June.

The Johannesburg Primary Schools League comprises approximately 100 schools including former model C, private and independent schools and have previously not been part of the Danone Nations Cup.

A call to enter was sent to all schools with 18 keen to participate.  This number is set to increase over the next couple of years.

The Danone Nations Cup games will take place at St Davids Marist Inanda on 15, 16 and 17 May between 2.30 and 4.30.  The schools have been divided into 3 groups of 6 teams and will play a round robin, progressing to semifinals (league winners and the best runner-up).  Both teams that qualify for the final will participate in the provincial finals with eight regional finalists that will come through the South African Schools Football Association (SASFA) structures.

The competing schools include:
The King’s School Robin Hills, Glenhazel Primary School, Summerwood Primary School, Deutshue Schule, Maryvale Primary School, Rembrandt Park Primary School, Grayston Primary School, Norwood Primary School, Fairways Primary School, Rivonia Primary School, Crawford Fourways, King Davids Sandton, Hirsch Lyons Primary School, Orange Grove Primary School, Bryneven Primary School, Reddam House, Houghton Primary School, Bryanston Primary School
