Powerade, hosted the final leg of the Powerade Performance Academies which in
previous months took place across major cities in the country. The Academy was
hosted in Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, where coaches in attendance
were inspired and empowered by insightful performance experts running an
interactive one-day seminar.
Since the start of the year,
Powerade embarked on a campaign to Celebrate
Everyday Coaches across the country. The campaign saw ‘ordinary’ coaches
that go on to do extraordinary being recognised for the efforts in playing a
part in developing young talent that goes on to do achieve on world stages.
Powerade continues to find ways
to innovate and support born sportsmen’s progression of active goals and
maintain its commitment to young South African sportsmen and sportswomen by
providing them with the necessary platforms to achieve their ultimate sporting
goals. In line with this commitment, Powerade aims much of its efforts on high
school coaches in recognition of their role as primary influencers of the next
generation of South Africa’s sporting heroes.

The experts that concluded the
Johannesburg leg of the academy were Orlando Pirates Assistant Coach, Rhulani
Mokwena; Emma Sadlier, Social Media Law Specialist; Andrew Horton a Time
Management Training Expert as well as Iain Shippey who is a Sports Performance
Coach.
Throughout the Performance
Academies, the attending coaches received Powerade Coaching kits that will help
them continue to assist them in their everyday coaching tasks. To further
enrich coaches to connect the coaches across the country, Powerade has also
introduced a Powerade Facebook Community called the Coaches Corner where coaches can interact and share their daily
challenges and celebrations with their peers.
