Coca-Cola Schools T20 School Profile: St Albans College: Titans Representative









History in the tournament

-        St Albans normally get knocked out in the ¼ finals of the tournament.
-        In 2015 have made it to the semi-finals but they lost to Menlo Park who went on the win the National finals.

Road to the National Finals
-        St Albans played against Garsfontien in the Northens final. Both teams scored 128 runs so they went to a super over. St Albans needed to his 4 runs off the last ball in the super over and Chris Williamson hit a six to win the game. Chris Williamson scored 66 runs in the match.
-        Next they played Ben Voster, the Limpopo champions. St Albans scored 156 runs, Chris Williams 71 and Mondi Twala 70, then they bowled out Ben Voster for 143 runs.
-        In the Titans final they played against Marais Viljoen. Marais Viljoen batted first and scored 136/7 Ryan Hulme taking 3/8. St labans easily chased down the total for the loss of only three wickets, Chris Williamson 38 and Ryan Hulme 36 not out.

Potential Heroes

-        Chris Williamson has come to form at the end of the season and scores in every game that he plays in. He gets the team off to a good start and they team can play around him.
-        Ryan Hulme is a huge asset with both bat and ball. He hold us the middle order with the bat and since he is a spinner, he takes the pace off the ball and offers variety.
-        Musa Twala is a keeper batsman who is inventive with his shots and even tough he is not the tallest of players he has a fantastic strike rate and scores incredibly quickly.
-        Jordan Landsburg is a quick opening bowler. He often has the opposition a couple of wickets down early in the match.

Prospects for the Coca-Cola T20 Schools Challenge National Finals

-        They are expecting good cricket at the tournament. The top schools from all over the country are all on show so there should be a lot of fireworks.

-        The St Albans team know Hilton College, Prestige College, KES and St Andrews quite well so they know what to expect from them.

-        Their strengths lie in the depth of their batting lineup, everyone can bat, and their spinners that can change the game up and have the knack of taking a lot of wickets.
