Mhlahle Primary School Wins the DNC Mpumalanga Provincial Finals

Mhlahle Primary School had to battle the rain as well as other local schools to win the Mpumalanaga provincial finals of the Danone Nations Cup at the Ackerville Stadium in Witbank. The weather was not ideal but the kids had fun all the same and enjoyed all the Danone snacks that they were given.

The kids had a hard time playing on a waterlogged field but they still had fun and in between games there were kids taking advantage of the break to play on the fields.

The tournament started off with all teams going up against each other. The top two teams then played each other in the finals. It so happened that the last game before the final had the two finalists playing against each other. In both cases Mhlahle primary beat Dumelani Primary. In the first game Mhlahle won comfortably but in the second game Dumelani put up a far better fight and actually dominated play. Even though Dumelani had more possession they really didn’t come close to scoring. Mhlahle first put the ball into into the net in the 13th min of the game only for the goal to be disallowed due to an infringement on the goal keeper. Then they actually scored in the 18th minute, just before half time. Considering the tournament up to that stage the result was correct. Mhlahle was the only unbeaten team in the tournament.

After the event, all the kids were given Ultra Mel, Nutriday and Yogi Sip to take home.
